Personal Learning Plan 9/8/2010: This was my first reflection on my personal learning plan. This tallowed me to reflect upon areas within my own classroom and teaching that I wanted to improve and focus on. I included this entry as it demonstrates the very beginning of my thoughts going into the GSE Teacher Leadership Program.
The Dream:
The classroom learning environment and experience extends and revolves around projects aimed at engaging each student with the content. In this reflective article I outline goals and dream ands ideas of my "DREAM SCHOOL". I then compare reality to my dream and reflect upon "bright spots" within my own school site that I can work with to "change" and move towards my "Dream".
Fierce Wanderings of a Music Educator: Un-boxed Article 2010
When I began to think about how I could explore differentiation within my own classroom, I discovered many threads that I could study. I continually brainstorm and journal about projects, lessons and ideas about daily procedures in my classroom and how they could be interpreted by different types of learners. The ideas and concepts surrounding differentiation could be divided into two subcategories of large group design strategies and individual student consideration. The following is a collection of these thoughts.
Equity Spark:
Lightning flashes, deep in thought analyzing what others have brought to the table, trying to make sense of everything we’ve discussed in class and then all of a sudden like a flash, it appears in front of me. This is a collection of my thoughts about equity within my classroom. The thinking and writing included in this entry was the spark that led to Take a Stand 1.0. I wanted to include this piece of writing to show how reflective writing and journaling led to BIG CHANGES within my own teaching.
Inquiry Journal: This is a living, working, breathing document that I have used throughout the year to gather my thoughts, collect research, reflect upon questions and to begin projects, papers, and research documents throughout the year. This is not meant to be a finished product for a display but it is included as a glimpse into what I have considered to be my "workbench" or "garage" for much of the year. Most of my ideas, writings and projects have started here.
