Projects:  This is a collection of action projects that I used in my classroom and implemented within the whole school.

Take a Stand 1.0:

Staff at our school made a decision to address bullying with a school wide assembly giving students information and resources and solutions to bullying.  A week after the assembly I saw even more bullying beginning to happen, even with some of the students who helped to organize and present the assembly.  Something had to be done, so I created an ongoing curriculum and program to deal with these issues as they continued to pop up in our classes.

Personal Performance Project:
What makes performance special?  When have you been moved by either performing or hearing a performance of a piece of music?  What makes these moments special to us? These were questions swirling through my head when thinking about how I could create a more meaningful environment and experience for all students within the band and orchestra program. I wanted to create a project that would be taught at the beginning of the year and allow for students to create products that showcase their individual talents and goals for the year.
